"Respect the tide but control the current."

History:
House Xenos is a very young, very unusual House of Westeros that could probably only exist in Dorne. The House of Xenos was founded by Xaqqen Xenos, the great grandfather of Nymeros, a sailor and merchant who was born in the Summer Isles. Xaqqen was especially known for his fleet's ability to repel the fiercest of pirates through battle strategy and use of the goldenheart bows common to the Summer Isles. The reputation for fighting off pirates became known to House Umbriel, who would go on to hire Xaqqen and his fleet to protect Umbriel ships and important merchant ships while they were at see. Xaqqen did this successfully for decades, and after saving the Lord of House Umbriel at see he was awarded with the title of Lord of Starfall, another port city that was in need of better protection.
In the short time sense its founding House Xenos has built a strong name for itself in Dorne, and is recognized through out the Seven Kingdoms. House Xenos retains the ability to build massive, strong ships in the style of the Summer Isles. This skill has made them the main producers of ships in Dorne, while also sellin ships in the Reach, the Stormlands, the Crownlands, and southern free cities such as Lys and Volantis. They also continue to provide naval protection to several Houses in Dorne and merchants from the Free Cities. In addition, House Xenos has leveraged its connections to the Summer Isles to make Starfall the first port for goods soming from the islands, which has increased its international renown as a port city.
House Xenos has been dedicated to the Lord of Light for three generations, and tends to keep a Red Priest or Priestess close by. This practice was started by Xandra Xenos, Lady of Starfall before Lord Xaq. Followers of Mother Rhoyne are also common among House Xenos, and this religion is also well respected in Starfall.
The Lord or Lady of House Xenos is taught from an early age to arrange marriages with powerful families from the Summer Isles and the Free Cities as a strategy to increase military might and coin. While the house is well respected, their heritage and darker skin had historically created a barrier for arranging marriages with Westerosi houses.
